There are 15 subjects in the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage course: 

We’ve made your units very easy to study by grouping them under subjects, so you have less doubling up and your study is more efficient and meaningful.

The units are:

The Diploma course is delivered across multiple subjects consisting of a total of 21 accredited units clustered into 15 subjects. Students must complete all subjects satisfactorily in order to be deemed competent in these units. 

Evolve College has created a flexible timetable arrangement that allows you to study whilst maintaining other life commitments. Many of our students study while working full time, have kids and/or run busy and active lives. We believe study should be something that helps you grow but does not require you to give up all other commitments to do so.

Course Delivery

Classes occur in 2 day blocks on average every 3-4 weeks, There are 16 classes in total including the supervised practice clinics. Classes can be attended at your chosen campus. You can choose from the following class options:

• Weekday Format (Monday & Tuesday)

You will attend class at your chosen location for your practical subjects which will consist of a total of 16 two-day blocks (including the Introductory Massage Course). You can choose from the following options:

The Evolve Virtual Clinic is Evolve College's state of the art online student clinic platform that enables you to perform clinical hours supervised live by an Evolve College Assessor, in your chosen working environment. 

Students complete online practice hours throughout their course, which is a further step in our careful and comprehensive clinical training. In this unique and unprecedented technological platform, students are able to build confidence and true readiness for entering the industry, as they work in their own professional environment whilst still having the live supervision of an Evolve College Assessor. It is one of the important steps in your study, which helps build confidence in skills and confirm for you your readiness to join the industry as a value-adding, highly professional member. 

An on-campus alternative is available. 

On completion of the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage qualification you will be qualified to perform remedial massage. Your job title will be Remedial Massage Therapist. 

Of course, this will depend on the needs of the employer and you being a match, but generally examples of where relaxation massage could be practiced include:

• private clinic with provision for health fund rebates (for on-campus study only and subject to meeting the requirements set by Evolve College and the associations. See the Student Handbook and the private health fund pages for more details.) 
• larger health-care service or clinic alongside chiropractors, physiotherapists, naturopaths and other health-care professionals
• complementary health-care or medical service providing injury management & rehabilitation
• national & international sporting environment
• business & corporate sector 

The HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage is the latest Diploma qualification in massage in Australia. 

Yes, private health funds such as Medibank Private require on-campus study for the award of provider numbers which enable remedial massage therapists to offer rebates to their clients who hold private health insurance. 

Evolve College's on-campus program meets the educational criteria of Medibank Private. 

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, it is required that students:

• Are 18 years or older
• Have sound literacy and numeracy skills (HSC, Certificate IV or higher). If you have not completed prior study, then completion of a quick language literacy and number quiz administered on enrolment with Evolve College.
• Have basic computer skills

Credit (or recognition) for subjects/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Read more about our Recognition of Prior Learning program and National Recognition (Credit Transfer). 

Students can enrol directly into the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage course. The HLT42021 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy course is not a pre-requisite.

• On completion of Subjects 1-15 within the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage Course students will receive the diploma qualification

On-campus students study all practical learning on-campus. All practical assessments must be completed on-campus and theory assessments are completed online, with an on-campus component. You are required to complete your assessments by the due date for each assessment within your unit of study (trimester). You are required to attend all parts of your scheduled timetable.

To complete the units in this qualification you will need a internet connection and an active email account. 

Accessories

You will require the following: 

• Massage Table: A Massage Table for practice at home. (For your classes, massage tables are supplied at on-campus locations unless specified.)
• Towels: Towels of a good quality (sizes are specified on enrolment), which you will bring to class and for massage practice at home. 
• Massage Oil: Oil is provided in the Introductory class (for on-campus students) and then it is your responsibility to provide your own oil for subsequent class use and for home practice. Oil  must be in a pump top bottle (to prevent spillage). You will be issued with one such bottle in your Introductory class. 

The HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage is the latest Diploma qualification in the Australian massage industry. It was released in late 2022. The qualification was developed by industry to meet current industry standards and has been endorsed by the government. 

 The HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage is nationally recognised training. 

Your training and assesment are compliant with the Health Training Package requirements for HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage:

• Nationally recognised qualification within the Australian Qualifications Framework
• Current qualification under the Health Training Package
• Centrelink registered (subject to your application to and approval by Centrelink for assistance

The current Diploma qualification in massage is the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage. This qualification is a nationally recognised qualification within the Australian Qualifications Framework and therefore has a unique code identifier - HLT52021.

C.   FEES

1.    Loan Fees

Students who are accepted into the VET Student Loans program by the Government will be charged a 20% loan fee. That loan fee, i.e. 20% of the full loan amount, is in addition the principal of the loan itself, and must be repaid with the principal amount to the Government. Therefore it becomes part of the overall debt you accrue to the Department. 

However, note that the loan fee (of 20%) is not part of your lifetime FEE-HELP limit. Only the loan principal contributes towards your FEE-HELP balance.  

2.    Tuition Fees

Evolve College charges tuition fees for each course. These are set out in the fees published on our website, applicable to your course. Click the button below to view currently published fees. This schedule will be updated from time to time, to reflect the current fee period.

3.    Charges not covered by tuition fees

Charges which are not covered by tuition fees are set out in the document by that title, available for download at www.evolvecollege.com/policies. 

D.   HOW MUCH CAN I LOAN? 

1.    Loan Caps

Eligible students will be entitled for loans up to a capped amount. Students will need to contribute the gap if the total course fee exceeds the loan cap for a course. The loan cap is set by the Government and for the HLT52021 is currently $10,340, which means that you cannot loan greater than that amount. If your tuition fees are less, your loan also will be less, subject to meeting eligibility criteria and approval by the Commonwealth Government. 

2.    Your FEE-HELP balance 

You also need to ensure your FEE-HELP balance (of any previous loans) has a credit balance sufficient to cover the loan you are seeking. If you have a CHESSN (Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number), we can look up your balance for you. 

E.   WHAT ARE CENSUS DAYS? 

1.    Fee periods

Your course is split into fee periods, each of which contains a “census day”. You have three fee periods in your course. Each is approximately the same length. The fee periods are split into three components of the course, each containing five subjects. Click on the button below to view the current fee periods.

2.    Understanding your Census Days

The census day is the last date which students can withdraw from the relevant unit(s) relating to a fee period without incurring a VET Student Loan debt for that/those unit(s). Therefore the Census Day is important. Once the Census Day passes, you are no longer eligible to withdraw from that particular unit or units without incurring a VSL debt. 3.    Will I receive notice of what debt I am going to incur before I incur it?

Yes. Every time a Census Day is approaching, Evolve College will send you a Fee Notice. This will ensure that you are informed of the fact that a Census Day is approaching. Evolve College will send you a Fee Notice at least 14 days before each census day. The Fee Notice will specify your fees and the upcoming census day. 

4.    How will I know how much debt I am accruing?

Your VET Student Loan debt is incurred the day after your census day (for each fee period) and you will be issued with a Commonwealth Assistance Notice (“CAN”) within 28 days of the census day via email indicating the debt which has been incurred. The CAN will include details of the unit(s) covered by VET Student Loan, so you can keep track of what debt relates to what units of study, and your progress in your course.

5.    What if your CAN is incorrect? (See previous Q.)

If you consider that the information in your CAN is incorrect, you must, within 14 days of the CAN issue, submit a CAN review request by emailing Evolve College at evolve@evolvecollege.com. You should include evidence showing why you think your CAN is incorrect.

If upon review it is determined that the original CAN was incorrect, your CAN will be corrected and re-issued.

F.    PROGRESSION 

1.    What are progression forms?

A condition of a VET Student Loan is that you make regular progress in your course. The Government uses “progression forms” to monitor your continued enrolment and engagement. Evolve College will send these progression forms to you. 

2.    How often do I have to do progression forms?

You will be required to complete a progression form to show progression in your course, every 4 months, to satisfy Government requirements. That form will also contain a survey about us, which you can answer however you feel to.

G.   WITHDRAWAL 

1.    Withdrawal before census day

If you are an eligible student studying HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage and formally withdraw from your course before any census day you will receive a refund of any tuition fees (excluding any incidental costs) you have paid in advance for the study period related to that census day, and you will not incur a VET Student Loan debt for the study period related to that census day.

2.    Withdrawal after census day

If you are an eligible student studying the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage and withdraw from your course after any census day you will incur a VSL debt for the census dates that have already passed, unless the debt is remitted under special circumstances. If special circumstances apply, you will need to apply for a re-credit of your VSL balance, pursuant to our Student Fees Re-crediting Policy and Procedure, downloadable from our website at www.evolvecollege.com/policies. 

If you apply to withdraw from your course, your application will be treated in accordance with Evolve College’s Withdrawal Policy and Procedure. 

H.   INFORMATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT

From 1 January 2015, all students participating in Nationally Recognised Training in Australia are required by the Australian government to have a Unique Student Identifier, or USI.

This includes students completing an apprenticeship, skill set, certificate or diploma course.

A USI gives you access to your online USI account and will contain all of your nationally recognised training records and results from 1 January 2015 onwards, stored in the one place. You therefore can access your results and the details of all courses you have completed. 

When applying for a job or enrolling in further study, you will often need to provide your training records and results. One of the main benefits of the USI is that you will have easy access to your training records and results throughout your life.

It is free and easy for you to create your own USI online at usi.gov.au.

If you do not have a USI you can obtain this prior to commencing your studies. It is important to understand that this is a requirement set by the Government and we are unable to issue your qualification to you on completion of your studies unless you have a USI.
