Jobs and Skills WA Information and Policies Page for funded students

The Department of Training and Workplace Development (DTWD) sets the course fee, payable by students. DTWD has reduced the massage course fee cost paid by students, under their Jobs and Skills WA program. You can learn more about this program on the Jobs and Skills WA website.

Jobs and Skills WA funded courses offered with Evolve College

Evolve College currently offers the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage and CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling funded to existing workers under the Lower fees, Local Skills program.

Meeting the existing worker target group

To be considered an existing worker, you must be working 20 hours per week at the time of enrolment. You do not need to work in an industry specific to your elected qualification to qualify as an existing worker.

Annual Course Fee Cap*

All programs delivered under the Lower Fees, Local Skills qualification have an annual fee cap, as set by DTWD. The annual fee cap is the set total maximum amount for your course fees per qualification or course per calendar year. This is the maximum amount you pay in any one year of study. The rest of tuition fees are paid by the WA government.

The current annual fee cap for non-concession students in 2024 is set at $1200.
The current annual fee cap for concession students in 2024 is $400.

This is your course fee for the 2024 calendar year (for enrolments made while this annual fee cap is current). This is an annual fee cap.

What does it mean by 'annual' fee cap?

The fee cap is applied annually. The fee cap is the maximum course fee that you will pay in any one year. The WA Government sets this annually.

Fees are charged depending on when units of competency are commenced. If you commence all Units of Competency within one calendar year, the maximum fee you will pay in 2024 (for non-concession) will be $1200 (2024 annual fee cap). However, if you start study in the 2024 year and commence any Units of Competency in the 2025 year, the fees for Units of Competency commenced in your second calendar year of study will be applied up to the 2025 annual fee cap. This will in part depend on the time of your enrolment. The above means that your fees for the 2025 calendar year will not exceed the annual fee cap for the 2025 year. Fees for study commenced in 2025 do not fall under the annual fee cap for 2024. The WA government’s rules are set out in its Fees and Charges policy, which is available for download on the policies page of our website.

It is important to note that only the course fees are included in the fee cap and the WA government rules stipulate that additional resource fees may apply, where applicable to your course of study. For studies with our College, you can find any additional fees on the Administration and Additional Fees Schedule, available for download on the policies page of our website. The WA government’s rules are set out in its Fees and Charges policy, which is available for download on the policies page of our website.

*The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as Student service and resource fees.

 Resource fee

There is no resource fee applicable to your training with our College as a WA Government Subsidised Student.

Administration and additional fees

The Administration and Additional Fees Schedule outlines the fees and charges for administrative matters, such as any request for a confirmation of enrolment letter, progress statement report or confirmation of course completion letter. The Administration and Additional Fees Schedule is available for download on the policies page of our website.

Additional entry requirements

All students eligible to receive funding Diploma of Remedial Massage under the Lower Fees, Local Skills must also meet the entry requirements outlined in the Student Entry Policy and Procedure, available for download on the policies page of our website. VET Student Loans

There is a component of your course that is subsidised by the WA government, and there is a smaller component which is the “course fee”, which you pay. You can defer your course fees under the Lower Fees, Local Skills program to a VET Student Loan if you choose to, provided you meet the VET Student Loan eligibility requirements. Alternatively, you can pay the course fee amount upfront. If you intend to defer your course fee to a VET Student Loan (VSL), you should read the applicable terms and conditions of the VSL in the fees section of our website, at https://www.evolvecollege.com/fees/diploma-of-massage-fees (scroll to section 2. VET Student Loans). You will read on that page that the VET Student Loan is a debt owed to the Commonwealth government. It is not a free funded amount. You have to pay it back, with significant interest. See the page linked to above.
