Course Description

The counselling course qualification prepares you to become a counsellor, working with clients on personal and psychological issues using established counselling modalities. This qualification enables you to work as a case worker or support worker within a counselling organisation. This course can provide a good introduction to working as a counsellor and lead to more qualification pathways. 

Note: You can work as a counsellor without any formal qualifications. So, if you do not need a qualification to be a counsellor why get one? We recommend all professionals have the formal skills and knowledge to provide their services. Becoming a professional counsellor with a CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling can enable you to get professional association accreditation as well as professional practice insurance.

This method is great for those who like to take a practical approach to study and would like guidance through assessments. Blended mode consists of attending 5 lots of a 2-day practical class once every 6-8 weeks. This means you do a total of 10 days on campus spread throughout your course.

Association Membership

Evolve College’s CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling course is accredited with Australian Community Counselling Association (ACCA). ACCA can be contacted via its website https://acca.asn.au. Students are also eligible for provisional membership with Australian Counselling Association (ACA), following completion of their course with Evolve College. Provisional membership constitutes practising registration. Following graduation, graduates are required to undertake clinical supervision with ACA according to ACA’s requirements which currently comprise 10 hours of supervision and 25 points of professional development.
