Remedial Massage Therapist

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Remedial Massage Therapist. Who provides therapeutic services to promote our elderly clients independence and well-being. Enabling them to remain living in their own homes within Newcastle, Nelson Bay, Maitland and Lake Macquarie If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to provide meaningful and restorative treatments to improve quality of life for older people, then our role is for you! This position is a due to growth and will join others on a small but growing Allied Health team. 

About the Role - What you will be doing:-

  • Delivery of in-home massage therapy services based on current evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrate proficient assessment and measurement skills, including collection of client information and selection of appropriate assessment tools
  • Manage clients feedback and take corrective action to ensure services remain responsive to consumer need
  • Work in conjunction with the Case Manager to develop therapeutic services that support healthy ageing and improve our clients' health and well-being
  • Effectively communicate with clients and their families, our staff members and other health professionals, with regards to the provision of Massage services

About You - What you need to succeed:- 

  • Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice (minimum requirement) 
  • Association Membership Experience with Massage Therapy 
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • A demonstrated understanding of comprehensive & holistic assessments of consumers to determine an appropriate care plan
  • Ability to plan and carry out massage services to consumers in need and ensure they are given the appropriate care
  • Ability to develop relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent customer service skills with proven, effective communication/problem solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a community setting
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • An understanding and willingness to work with billable targets
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the area of aged care massage therapy 
  • Current Full Australian Driver’s License and access to a reliable registered and comprehensively insured vehicle or an option to use a pool vehicle
  • Current Full First Aid certificate 
  • Proof of Influenza Vaccination
